I grew up here in Central Oregon and am very familiar with the area and culture. I went to college at Western Oregon University and earned my Master of Social Work degree from Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho.
I am trained in many different interventions including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, and more. I take a holistic approach and collaborate with my client to come up with treatment plans. I have suggestions, recommendations, and techniques to teach, but ultimately, the client is the expert on their life.
I specialize in:
- Trauma, PTSD
- Depression
- Crisis Intervention
- Anxiety
- Mood Disorders
- Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
- Grief and Loss
- Coping Skills
- Setting Boundaries
- Behavioral Issues
The approach I use in therapy is Strengths-Based to help empower my client. I consider their individual needs, including their biological, psychological, social, and spiritual values and circumstances. I help clients identify past traumas or stressors and help them work through these issues, while learning more adaptive and healthy coping skills. I feel privileged to be a part of my client's journey and work with them to create a more balanced and functional life.
